FINLAND
From the December timetable change, VR will use a refurbished Pendolino train on some services on the Oulu – Helsinki route. The trains will be the first to convey Ekstra Plus class, which will include the option to pre-order at seat meals. The trains will also have a car with a play area for children!

FRANCE
Due to the withdrawal of French government subsidies, the Paris – Wien/Berlin Nightjet service will stop running in December, leaving France without any international sleeper trains.

GREAT BRITAIN
From January 15, 2026 the Caledonian Sleeper overnight service between London and Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William will call at Birmingham International, the biggest change to the train’s operation for over 30 years.

LITHUANIA
LTG Link and PKP Intercity are working together to reduce the journey time of the Warszawa – Vilnius train by approximately one hour from the December timetable change. This should bring the journey time down to approximately 7 hours 30 minutes. Additional connections from Poland to Lithuania are being planned.
